Surveyor Interceptor offshore tests ongoing

Reach Subsea ASA (Reach) has, as previously announced, together with survey partner MMT Sweden AB (MMT) and manufacturer Kystdesign, developed an innovative survey ROV called the Surveyor Interceptor. The Surveyor Interceptor is designed to carry survey instrumentation to perform Pipe line inspection, Route Surveys, Subsea Installation surveys and Environmental surveys down to 2.000 m water depth. Given the vehicles features, including the hydra-dynamic shape, it is intended to deliver ultra high-resolution data at a substantial lower cost per km compared with today’s assets.
Reach and MMT announce today, after one week with offshore testing from the vessel Edda Fonn, that the Surveyor Interceptor is performing according to expectations, both on speed and the survey data quality.

“We are so far very pleased with the results and the data quality and performance is within or above expectations. The Surveyor Interceptor will be ready for commercial work for 2015 and we are looking forward to presenting this innovative ROV to our clients.” Says Jostein Alendal (CEO, Reach) and Ola Oskarsson (founder and project leader, MMT).

“Another test-day done with the Surveyor ROV. What a fantastic piece of art. So futuristic complicated, capable and sofisticated, but still a dream to fly.”  Says Atle Monsen, Reach Subsea Senior ROV supervisor.
